Martin Adler
About:
Dr. Martin Adler is an economist as well as the founder-CEO of AtAdlerAdvisory which provides analysis and economic advice to public bodies such as European Commission, the OECD, national ministries and municipal bodies as well as private enterprises. Martin is also a researcher at the VU University Amsterdam and has received international prizes for his scientific output. He is a Leader at Placemaking Europe, a partner at the mobility consultancy firm H+C as well as a member of the International Advisory Board of La Marina de Valencia.

Nellija Titova
About:
Nellija Titova is Research Associate at BICEPS, Senior Expert in Education at AND Advisory and Visiting Lecturer at Ventspils University College. Nellija Titova has been working in education for twentyone years working at the University of Latvia and the SSE Riga, serving in the State Education Development Agency and the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia. In her work with Structural Funds and the Minister of education and science, Nellija participated in a wide range of activities in education network and youth movement, making policy decisions and investing in content development, training, teaching staff, work with students, creativity projects, as well as infrastructure projects. While in charge of the Minister’s office, Nellija led discussions with social partners and the civil society. She continues her civil society work in the Latvian Chamber of Commerce as a Deputy Head of Knowledge Economy Council and as a member of Education Working Group at the Foreign Investment Council in Latvia. Nellija has been involved in several education, youth and labour market research projects and currently is doing her PhD thesis on “Intellectual Capital Efficiency Impact on Business Performance”.

Aivars Timofejevs
About:
Aivars Timofejevs is Research Associate at BICEPS and SSE Riga, CEO of Oxford Research Baltics. Aivars has more than 15 years’ experience in conducting different research projects including evaluations and impact assessments. In addition, Timofejevs is a PhD candidate with a research topic Catalysts of SME Development in Latvian Regions which is focused on assessment of efficiency of entrepreneurial support instruments. Timofejevs has extensive experience in carrying out evaluations and impact assessments that included a policy / programme analysis, examination of its impacts, results and efficiency, overall assessment of an intervention, as well providing recommendations for planning and implementing growth and employment enhancing policies.

About:
Anete Pajuste is associate professor at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. Her primary research focus is on the issues of investor protection and corporate governance. Her articles have appeared in several journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Oxford Review of Economic Policy, and the Economics of Transition. Professor Pajuste received a Ph.D. in finance from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2004. During her doctoral studies, she spent a year as a visiting research fellow at the Harvard University, and a semester at the European Central Bank. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she was the head of research at the asset management division of Rietumu Banka. In parallel with her academic work, Professor Pajuste serves as a consultant to small and medium-size companies in Latvia advising on financial planning, investment management, and firm valuation issues.

Rūta Dapkūnaitė
About:
Rūta Dapkūnaitė is an anthropologist, who has completed MA in Social Anthropology at Vytautas Magnus University, attained the Southern Illinois University Certificate in Intercultural Understanding and currently pursuing her PhD on the topic of displacement of people through the anthropological perspective. Trained in social and applied anthropology, experienced in international relations, project management and development research, Rūta has professional experience in Lithuania, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Cambodia, USA. Her research interests include migration studies and refugees, the poverty concept in different communities, cultural diversity and differences, consumption and the consumer society, technological impact on society, kinship, human rights. Rūta is a member of Lithuanian Society of Young Researchers and the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) at Stanford University.

Kalev Aasmäe us a Junior Research/Teaching Fellow at BICEPS and SSE Riga since 2019. He is a doctoral degree candidate at Tallinn University, Estonia. His dissertation topic is “The Role of Reciprocity and Exchange of Material Objects in Maintaining the Unity of a Squatter Community and in Increasing the Squatter Capital of the Community´s Members”. His primary research interests are Economic Anthropology, Community building, and Urban Space.

Anna Elizabete Grike
About:
Anna Elizabete Grike is a Junior Research Fellow at BICEPS and Junior Teaching Fellow at SSE Riga since 2019. Anna Elizabete Grike is a doctoral degree candidate from the University of Latvia. Her dissertation topic is “Borderland traditions: a case study in south-east Latgale”. With the expertise in qualitative research methods, Grike’s academic interests cover traditions, kinship, migration and onomastics. Grike is also a research assistant in the Latvian Language Institute since 2018.
