Although registered and located in Latvia BICEPS has always striven to operate on a broader stage. Nearly all of BICEPS activities rely on an extensive network of partners that continues to grow. BICEPS has a wide range of academic partner institutions in Latvia, Europe and other countries. Our main partnerships are with the Stockholm Institute for Transition Economics (SITE) and its affiliated institutions, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, as well as with a number of internationally acclaimed research institutions which are listed below.
Stockholm Institute for Transition Economics at Stockholm School of Economics is a leading research and policy centre on transition in Central and Eastern Europe. Over the last decade it has pioneered efforts to develop human capital by building innovative, independent think tanks in Moscow (CEFIR), Riga (BICEPS), Szczecin (CenEA), Kiev (KSE), Minsk (BEROC) and Tbilisi (ISET). Informally, these centres constitute the ‘SITE family’ being sister institutes.
Stockholm School of Economics in Riga

Since its foundation BICEPS has been closely linked with SSE-Riga. Some of BICEPS researchers hold teaching positions at the school and supervise students’ bachelor theses. To tap further synergies from this cooperation, as of April 2006, BICEPS is situated in the premises of SSE-Riga.
TeliaSonera Institute at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga was founded in 2004 with an endowment from TeliaSonera. The Institute is a think tank with the aim to promote and undertake high quality policy-oriented research in the fields of entrepreneurship, telecom and information technology as well as to promote entrepreneurship in Latvia.
